Hello there! How’s your February going so far?  It’s such a good month isn’t it? Lots of red and pink going on.  At least around here it is.  Especially that RED.  I finally hung my Valentine quilt out on the front porch.  It’s only 7 days into the month so that’s not too bad.

Lots of stuff to get to so here goes.

First up,  the Vignette magazine issue #6  is going to be here the first part of March so I’ll be sending out the Paypal invoices and charging the credit cards. Just so you know ahead.  If you’d like to order one and aren’t on my list you can do so on the website now.  It’s under Australian patterns.  I know it’s a magazine.  No mail please.  lol  When I get a picture of the newest issue I’ll post it on the website.

Lynette Andersons Button BOM will be here in March too.  I have a few spots left if anyone hasn’t signed up yet that wants too. This one is not Christmas. Remember it is a mystery so I don’t know the finished size or have a photo of the completed quilt.  There are 9 months to this.  The pattern is free but the button your paying for. The pattern is only free to those who are participating in the Button of the month.  This is a sneak peak of the quilt.  Can you see the little owl in the bottom picture? And that cute squirrel button.  The quilt has some applique, some stitchery and some piecing. Just like the last one.  Hope this clears up some confusion about the quilt.  And postage is included in the cost of the kit each month.

Several of you wanted to do the block of the month that I offered as a Christmas BOM last year. So I started a new one. This one will be in the colors red/yellow and blue.  These are the first two blocks in the quilt.  Each month you make two blocks. One month you even make four little blocks. This is a big quilt.  It’s going to be scrappy so all shades of red, blue and yellow will be in it.  You can sign up under block of the months and this is called Vintage Memories.

These are the blocks from the Christmas one just so you can see some more of the designs we’ll do in the new colors.

New patterns are on the website. I tried to upload pics but Moda’s website is down and I can’t get them.  You can go to JUST ADDED and see them all.  Some cute ones if I do say so myself.

About the game we’re going to play. If you place an order this month I’ll send you a game piece so you can play.  I’ll be sending them out in Feb and we’ll start in March.  It’s going to be fun and prizes are involved.  you have to place an order.  It’s not for BOM’s going  out.   If you’ve placed an order this month your instructions are in your package that’s on the way. Just hang on to it. More on that later.

That’s about all I got from here.  I really wanted to let you know that I’ll start invoicing and billing for the Vignette magazine tomorrow.

Enjoy your snow if you have any.  Cause I don’t.  :(   Excuse me while I go pout.

Sharon

Lynette Andersons 2012 BOM

Posted February 2nd, 2012 in What's New

I have gotten a photo of the new 2012 button BOM from Lynette Anderson and I still have some room if you would like to join us.  It’s not Christmas this time.  Just for those of you that didn’t want to do another Christmas one. I am not sure of the completed size when your finished. There are 9 months to this.  The pattern is free again and you are paying for the button in the kits.  The pattern is ONLY FREE to those that are doing the BOM. Not everyone.  Here is the photo of what she sent me.

I love that squirrel button and do you see the owl down there in the second photo?  The quilt is called Fernhill.  I’m very excited for this one.  I sold my spot last time so I missed out, not this time girlies.  lolol  If you want in join now!!

You can sign up on the website and Lynette will be shipping us the first block the beginning of March.  YAYYYYY  Here is the link to the website.  http://daisycottagequilting.com/#ecwid:mode=product&product=7497730

Gotta run!!!

Happy Stitchin!

Happy February!!  I love this month.  Valentine is one of my favorite holiday’s.  We don’t do anything major for this holiday but I love it so much.  Maybe after all the red and green, just RED is what excites me so much.  And pink of course. Pink is a runner up to my beloved RED.

I’ve been working on some new things. First is my project for the Christmas project of the month club.  This little bag can be Christmassy or any other holiday or just an everyday bag to make for someone.  So this will be the next kit you guys get for that project of the month.

I hope you like it.  I think it turned out cute.  I might give mine to my sister.  For Valentine’s day of course.

I just have to show you this because I love all the stamps that are on it.  haaaaaaaa  A friend sent me this cute Mary Engelbreit book and lots of magazines. It was a total surprise. I had no idea she sent anything.  Thanks Jean!!

Peter Cottontail is a new kit on the website.  I love him!!!  I’ve tried to take numerous photos of him and none I like. Sorry.  Trust me, it’s cute and fast to make.   They both turn out different colors.  haaaa   I”m gonna say the one on the right is the better picture and more true to the colors. Some of the fabrics are from the line Together from Moda if that helps in the coloring.

This is the pattern just so you have a reference.

This is the first mini quilt from the Country Threads block of the month using their newest book.  I’ll be getting these kits out this week I’m hoping.  It will have the backing and the black binding too. My machine is still in the shop getting a new circuit board so I can’t quilt it. I like to quilt the smaller ones using my Pfaff. Not the Gamill.

This is the book you’ll need for the patterns each month.   The book is on the website.

Lovin this!!! I haven’t started the buttonholing yet but couldn’t wait to show you.  I love this so much I’m in love!!!!  There is more to the wallhanging.  This is only the center part, I still have to put on the borders. I’ll have the kit listed on the website too.  Fabrics may vary. The background one will be the same though.  The crows will be the same too.  I used some of my fabric from my stash to make parts of this and I have enough to do a few kits. Then I will substitute other fabs.  But………….tell me you don’t love it????  I dare you.  lolol

This is the pattern for this one so you can see the finished project.  Did I tell you that I LOVE IT???

I have your mini quilt of the month ready to mail, I’m just waiting on the patterns.  I’ve ordered them and hoping to get them this week.  Sorry for the delay.

Paypal invoices have been sent out to everyone  for the little House BOM and a couple still  haven’t paid. I’ll be selling your kits on the website if you don’t pay this week.  If you want to give me a credit card so you dont lose out that’s fine but if I bill you and you don’t pay your kit will go up on the website.

I’ll be back in a few days to tell you about a game we’re going to play and if you place an order this month you’ll be entered in the game once I explain it all.  The more you buy the better chance you have of winning. Just saying.  :)  If you already placed an order today it will count too for the game.

Thanks for your business.  I appreciate it.

Hugs

Sharon

Hey there! How’s everyone been?  I’ve been a sewing fool over here.  That’s all I wanna do lately.  Just hide in my basement and sew.  I am in a creative mood. Starting all kinds of projects. And yes even finishing some of them.  My problem is I don’t like to write patterns.  I can design lots of things and even make them but then getting the directions on paper…………problem!!!  I do warn you in my directions this is not my profession.  lol  But you know where I am if you have any questions.  That’s a good thing right?

I have been working on some of my BOM’s that some of you are doing.  I love all of them.  I thought maybe you would like to see what I’ve done.

This is the Vintage Christmas BOM.  I LOVE THIS. The red and green are so pretty together. I’m mixing a lot of shades of green in this.  It’s going to be a big quilt.  I can get the pattern set if anyone wants to make one.  I can’t kit it up like this anymore.  I might do it again if different colors.  Anyone interested? Send me an email.

Don’t you just love these tiny blocks?  Wouldn’t an entire quilt of these be cute?  They are the four little blocks in the center part of the quilt.

Finished both of these. I’m going to start the other two that I have now.  There are a few different ones on the website under STITCHERY or AUSTRALIAN patterns.  They come preprinted and all you do is stitch.  Can’t get any easier can it?    Well, it can but NO I’m not going to do it for you.  :)  I still haven’t decided how I’m going to finish these.  Maybe I’ll just hang them on the hanger with all my other stitchery’s until something hits me.  Not really HITS me, just hits me!

I made some new bundles of dots in fat quarters. If you go to the website under the bundles remember they are always changing as I get new fabric and sell out of old. If you really like dots I could make you one huge bundle of dots.  I have dots everywhere.  If it’s available I order it I think.  Who knew I had so many?

Here’s another one I have made up new.  This is the red fat quarter bundle.

I just had to show you this.  Some of my scraps from making bundles.  Isn’t it colorful. Like confetti.

This is the Redwork Christmas BOM that alot of you are doing.  I think it’s turning out awesome. These are some big blocks!  Hunka looked at them hanging there and said, WOW that is a lot of stitching.  DUHHHH    Ya think I just whip this stuff up overnight?  This BOM I can also get the pattern set still if anyone is interested. Just send me an email.  It is an iron on pattern so you just lay it on your fabric and press.  Perfect huh? No tracing!!

Do ya see what I’ve been working on?  This cute little drawstring bag.  It is going to be a tutorial on the website.  I’ll send it out in newsletter in a few days.  I have kits on the website if you want to make it like mine. You don’t have to, but if you like mine,  get a kit and get ready.  First thing you’ll need to do is go to Birdbrain’s website and print off the adorable little birdy pattern. It’s a freebie on her website. Robin does free little stitchery all the time for us to dowload free.  I won’t be including this in your kit because you should go get it from her.  And thank her maybe????  She doesn’t have to give us this free but she does and I think it’s so so nice of her.  He is the cutest bird isn’t he?

Your kit will have everything you need in it except the pattern for the bird. The instructions will be on the tutorial.  I love my little bag. Birdie Bag Kit is what it’s listed as under KITS.

FRONT

BACK

I’m outta room as usual.  Please know that shipping at the post office has increased as of the 21st. I’ve made the changes on the website so it will just automatically do that for you.  And don’t forget that I reimburse you for overcharges.  :)

Happy Sewing everyone

Hugs

First I need to let you know that orders coming in after this weekend won’t go out for a week. I’ll be heading to Ca to attend Road to CA with Hunka. I can’t wait.  We’re staying by the beach with a friend.  It’s going to be so much fun.  I’ll take lots of pictures if I can.  You can still place orders just know that they won’t ship out until after I return on Sunday the 22nd I think it is.

Secondly I’d like to ask you to say a prayer for my friend JoAnn Mullaly of JAM designs.  Her daughter Megan lost her battle with cancer this past week.  I know she’s been fighting this for years.  I can’t imagine what JoAnn is going through or her family.  My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.  I’m hoping to get to see her next week while I’m in Ca.  If you get a minute please stop by her blog and let her know we’re thinking about her.  You can click on her name and it should take you to her blog.

Bundles!!! I’ve been making bundles.  I spent most of the day yesterday downstairs cutting and cutting and kitting.  My hand hurts but I must carry on.  My customers wait.  :)  And I love my customers.

I cut a fat quarter of all the red/white or white/red polka dots. I didn’t realize I had so many different ones down there.  If your like me, you love you some polka dots and RED is even better.

This new line of fabric came in this week.  The 1862  Battle Hymn by Barbara Brackman.  I am in love with this.  I’m dying to cut into it and make something.  Like maybe one of our monthly mini’s.

And I made bundles too.

Redwork Renassiance by Chloe’s Closet  bundles.  Again with the RED.  Love it.

Blueberry Crumb Cake fabrics are on the website  by Blackbird Designs.  Along with their newest book.

Aren’t these cute? You pull their ears and the tape measure comes out.  Push the button on their back and it closes up.  And they are an inexpensive little gift for your quilter friends. Or if your like me, you get one for yourself!!

I thought this was a cute and easy pattern.  Daisy Chains by Fig Tree.

I’ve marked down alot of scissors, thread keeps, needle minders etc on the website.  I won’t be restocking these so get them while I have them.   And more fabric has been marked down.   I’m finally starting to see the basement carpet.  And that’s a good thing.

Sew Cherry,  Countdown to Christmas and  Sugar and Spice.  All marked down.

I’m almost caught up on all the orders everyone placed.  Next I’ll get back on schedule mailing out the BOM’s.   I’m still waiting to hear from Lynette on her new one.  Last one was Christmas but that doesn’t mean this year it will be Christmas.  I have no idea what she will do.  I’ll keep you updated as I know.

Vignette magazine will be out in March. Some of you have asked me about that too.  I still have issue one and three left.  I’m not restocking these. They are going out of print I think.  If you want any of them you can prepay and I can see if they are still in stock.  Other than that I will have issue 5 and those after that.

Alrighty then, that’s alot for you to take in.  Hope I didn’t leave anything out. If so, I’ll be back in your inbox soon.  :)  Don’t delete me.  I beg of you.  haaaaaaa   just kidding.  Ok, not really.

Hugs

ps.  I got my snow!!!!!!!!  Yippeeee, it snowed all day long today.  So pretty and I’m a happy camper.

I know I’m back sooner that I thought I would be. But I did send an email to Lynette Anderson about her Button BOM to find out when we could expect it and it looks like Feb it will get going.  So those of you that have already signed up,  you will be on the list for sure.  If anyone else thinks they might want to join us this year,  please, please sign up. I’m only going to reserve the amount of kits that have prepaid this year. And she could have us sign up any day. This will be the last time I mention this so please don’t delay if you think you’d like to do it.  You can sign up on the website but after that I’ll call for your cc number.  I will need your credit card number on this so I can just automatically bill each month before it is shipped to me. If you can’t do credit card I’m sorry, this is the only way to keep it simple and get them shipped out on time each month.Waiting for Paypal invoices to be paid is really confusing over here.  I have lots of  BOM’s  going on and keeping track of who paid, who’s was shipped, etc is quite a job.  And remember, it’s just me, little old me.  I do it all.

Regarding other BOM’s that are ongoing.  Please check your email accounts for invoices I send. I have sent a few out more than once and if they are not paid by this week I will assume your not doing it anymore. And I will mark your name off  that list.  I need to close up a few of them that are complete.  So please check your email or if you haven’t received a month your expecting please send me an email.  No one will be allowed to join a BOM in the middle anymore either.  It’s very confusing and just this week I got a nasty email from someone who signed up midway because there was a confusion on my part. I just can’t keep up with the late comer anymore.  So get in right at first if you want to participate.

Thanks for the orders I’ve received this weekend.  I’ll be working on them tomorrow and all week.  I’ve added more new fabric at a sale price.  I won’t be marking it down any lower, I’ll just keep it for kits an the price will go back up to 8.75 this week. So if your looking for some of the Battle Hymns fabric and want it on sale. Grab it now.  These are just a few of the prints I ordered.  Moda has shipped my order and it should arrive this week.  I can’t wait to see it and make something with it.

I’ve almost finished with my Annie BOM quilt. Just two more borders left.  I did cut the outside border in half.  It was just too wide for the little blocks.  What a happy quilt. You can still get the pattern set on the website. I have two full sets left.

This pillow was made using the Feb Annie blog.  But the kit has the pattern for Feb in it too in case you didn’t do the Annie BOM.

I’ve cut and added more 1930′s Aunt Grace bundles for fat quarters and fat eights. Both are marked down.  When these are gone, they are gone too.

I finished my Friendship BOM quilt.  I can still get the pattern set if anyone would like to make one.  Just let me know.

I’m sure someone out there does embroidery machine work. I have these two sets of thread and they are poly thread and rayon.  If anyone wants them and you pay the shipping I’d love to give them to you.  I can not use them and not even sure how I got them. lol  The first person to email me can have them.  I’ll send you a paypal invoice for shipping.  I’ll send them Priority Flat Rate in the box not an envelope.

GONE!!!!   Sorry. :(

Okie Dokie, gotta run!  Thanks again for the orders, the nice emails, and little notes you send me.  They all make me smile.

Hugs

sharon

I’m back and survived the holidays. How about you?  I’m gonna say that I’m happy they are all over with.  So much work, and then poof it’s over in a matter of hours.  I’ve started taking stuff back to the basement.  Most of it is down and ready to be stored away.  Next year we are going to spend Christmas in Tennessee most likely so I won’t be doing as much decorating.  Seems like every other year I decorate which is good with me.

New arrivals:

Weekend by Barb Adams and Alma Allen of  Blackbird Design

Stitched For Fun by Fiona Goble

Back to Charm School by Country Threads. I love them and their place on the farm.  I want to go back again soon.

Quilt A Gift by Bari.  And she has a baby boy one too that I have in stock.

This pattern is so cute. I’m going to do the snowmen in redwork instead of applique and then use red/white fabrics around the blocks.  Cute huh?

Simple Choices is a good book. I love the quilt on the cover.  The ones inside are cute too.

I’m starting a new BOM and it’s going to be a project a month for Christmas 2012.  Yes I said Christmas. Not all projects will be Christmassy but will be something easy you could make for gifts if you would like.  You can sign up for it on the website under ChristmasBOM2012.  Just like the others once we begin shipping you can’t join.  So if you think you wanna join us please sign up. So this is the first thing you’ll get.  And you don’t have to get every month. You can pick and choose after I list the project. I’ll only make so many kits though. When they are gone, they are gone.  Christmas Gift Ideas is what it’s listed as if you are looking for it.

These pillow are some you can make with the fabric you’ll get. You’ll be able to make even more really.  I just got tired of making them.  I’m gonna leave out the red ones and use for Valentine’s day.  So if you give these for a gift the person you give to can do that too.  There is a snowman, a tree, a heart, wool for a heart, wool for the snowman, etc in the kit.

I ordered two large Annie’s from my friend Nicole for Christmas. I sent her the fabrics I wanted her to use.  I used the Moda Christmas fabric.  They turned out so cute.  Here’s the one I kept for me. You can order them from her too.  She should be getting ready to make Valentine ones soon. I am telling you that I’m obsessed with her Annies. I should count how many I have.  This one is a big girl. You can see the little one to the right on the photo.  Yep she’s packed away too until next year.

I added another black bolt to the website from the line Little Gatherings.  Love this fabric.

I’ve added the BOM patterns for Truly Scrumptious to the website.  I started mine and they are so dang cute.  This is just for the patterns only. No kits.

This is a new kit I just finished.  It’s a Valentine Annie pillow. The kit includes the fabric, ribbon, button  and the pattern.  It’s around 10 inches square.  It’s under KITS on the website.

Can you see it way up there on my bed? I switched out the Christmas quilt and put my Valentine quilt on.  This is another one I made years ago.  But love every year when I bring it out.

I’ve updated the Clearance section on the website.  Lots of scissors, notions,  fabric, patterns/books, etc marked down. So check that out. Alot of stuff on there. I’m downsizing.  I have way too much inventory and I have no room.  I probably won’t be selling fabric by the yard for much longer.  Only kits and BOM’s.  So check out the stuff that’s marked down and keep checking back.

Thanks for stopping by, thanks for your business and Happy New Year.

Daisy Christmas!!

Posted December 19th, 2011 in What's New

Merry Christmas to everyone!  Are you ready?   I think I am officially done shopping. Just need to wrap a few more things.

We have a skinny tree.  And a skinny sister.  :)  Had to say that.  If you follow my FB page or my other blog you know who she is.  The tree was perfect in our house in Ca because that’s what we had room for.  Now I’d like a FAT tree but how do I tell hunka?   Since we’ve moved back to St. Louis where we have a big Christmas with my kids, and my “skinny” sister’s family I need room for all the gifts. They do not fit under a skinny tree.  Maybe I’ll look for a fatty after Christmas.

Here’s a great new book that just came in today.  I LOVE IT.  I’ve had this on preorder forever it seems like.  And it was worth the wait.  Starting in January I’m going to be offering a kit each month for one of the mini quilts in the book.  So you’ll need that in order to make the quilt.  I wont’ include instructions.  You can sign up to receive this monthly if you’d like on the website.  There are some great mini’s in this book. If you want to sign up for  the monthly mini using this book,  it’s listed under Country Threads Monthly mini on the website.

This one too. Now all I need is a little baby to sew for.  Maybe I’ll just start now and save everything.

All of the Vignette 5 orders have been shipped.  If you don’t have it yet, you should in a couple days. They are all out.  I still have a few left on the website.  There are still a few of the first four issues too if you still want to get in on them.  I won’t be ordering anymore of these.

These are the cutest quilt labels.  You get a lot of labels in one panel.  Do you put labels on your quilts?   I wish I could remember to do that.  I’m always happy to get that binding on and be done.  But then later on I look at a quilt and can’t remember the name of the pattern or when I made it.  I’ve got to start doing this.

Here’s a couple new bundles listed on the website this month.  Both are really nice.

I’ll be mailing out your first kit for the little house BOM after Christmas is over.   I’m almost finished with #2. I started and then Christmas got in the way.  Now I’m ready to get back to it.  You still have time to sign up for this but once I start mailing out.  It will be closed.

#1

#2  not all finished yet.

I know everyone is so busy right now but I wanted to pop in and tell everyone to have a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  And to thank you all for your business and support this past year.  I appreciate it so very much.  Be back in 2012.  :)  That means a couple weeks.
