Daisy Tutorial

Posted October 26th, 2012 in What's New

Red/White tote bag tutorial coming up. Part 1

You’ll need 48   3 inch squares. You can also do smaller or larger squares. That will effect the size of your bag.

Next let’s start making our rows. We are going to need 8 rows of 6 squares sewn together.

I started pairing up my squares into fours.  But you can of course just sew yours  into rows. Not sure why I did what I did.  :)

Now let’s sew these together and we have two of our 8 rows done.

See for the back part I gave up on the four patch and just made rows.

Got the first four rows done. Now you need another set of four rows so you can have a back to your bag. Without a back it’s not a bag.  Just sayin.

Here ya go.  You need two total  just like this.

Now let’s sew on our top border.  I cut mine  3 inches.  Again you can cut yours  smaller or larger.  Just make sure it is as long as your row of 6 squares sewn together.

Sew the top border on.

Here’s what you should have now.

Next we’re going to do some quilting.  Let me just say, you do not have to quilt this. You can also just iron on heavy duty interfacing to the back instead just for stability.

Be back soon with the next step.
